Learn about coffee from a pro, as owner and barista trainer Sarah Leslie takes attendees through the process of evaluating coffee known as “cupping”. Learn how to describe the four specific tastes or aromas in the coffees, and the differences between coffees.

Engage ICT: Democracy on Tap

In January 2016, local National Public Radio member station KMUW launched Engage ICT: Democracy on Tap. The series covers important topics affecting area citizens and voters, including healthcare, sustainability, education, and more. This week’s event’s focus is on “quality of life”, with experts speaking on the arts, riverfront projects, restaurants, and more. Appetizers are provided by Roxy’s Downtown, with drinks available for purchase.

Intro to Curling

Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the sport of curling? We’ll now you can, at Chicken N Pickle in Wichita. And if you didn’t know, curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area. You’ve probably seen it on TV during the winter Olympics – and it’s a lot of fun for a group! Learn the basics of curling, including an hour and a half of guided playing time and instruction. So bring your friends, and learn how to throw, sweep, and slide.
